Blackstream is one of a
sequence of experimental works utilizing digital imaging that in conjunction
with 2D works explore constructing concepts of reality that we can
live with. The work is concerned
with the dialogue between light reflected off surfaces and the visual
cortex. It deals with flux, light as wave and particle: things
in the moment of becoming. An element of fantasy creeps in. Ada Henskens completed a BFA at Victorian College of the Arts in 2001, BFA (Hons.) at Monash in 2002, and commenced a 4 year Ph.D at the School of Art, University of Tasmania in 2003. She has exhibited previously in Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand. She works across media, dealing with the moment between looking and deciding what it is we are looking at - the flux of reality.
