  Bartolo mixes nocturnal suburban landscapes and childhood memories to infuse his paintings with a dreamy reverie. Whispers in the Night is a chapter in this young artists life documenting his transition from youth to adulthood.

Working as a driver in the western suburbs of Melbourne he would watch the daily 'goings on' of the public, watching his friends grow up and move on, contemplating the cycle of life and how things change. Within his paintings there's a melancholy, a desire to hold on to the safety of the past and resist change. His work is a reflection on his history and how he got to where he is today.
