Bec Tudor moved to Tasmania from Sydney in 2003. She holds a Bachelor of Art, major in Philosophy (University of New South Wales 2003), and a Master of Art, Design and Environment (University of Tasmania 2004). She has received an Australian Postgraduate Award and is currently undertaking a PhD in Art Theory at the Tasmanian School of Art.

Tudor's research examines the intersection of art practice with environmental ethics, community and education. She co-authored study guides for the public art festival Chalk the Walk (Sydney 2006), was presenter at the Annual Conference of Art & Design Schools (Melbourne 2006) and Senses of Place (Hobart 2006), she was also an exhibiting artist in the Mountain Festival Sculpture Trail (Hobart 2006).

Tudor presents occasional lectures in Art Theory and Art & Wilderness units at the Tasmanian School of Art.
