Kevin Leong
Documentation / Photographer

Kevin Leong was born in 1970 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has lived in Australia since 1982. He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Sydney and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Tasmania.

His work argues that, contrary to current rationalist expectations, our response to sensation is stronger than our response to the logical. Using electronic media, he creates semi-immersive sculptural works that create disjunctive relationships between the physical environment and the sensorial rapture of our imagination.

He has recently exhibited at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Contemporary Art Spaces Tasmania, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and INFLIGHT. He has received a commission from Ten Days on the Island.
